The word “Batabano” refers to the footprints that turtles leave in the sand when they come to land to make their nests; hence, the festival dates align with the start of Turtle Nesting season in May. Batabano Carnival is full of color and spirit! You can expect a mile-long street parade of stilt performers, dancers, and a kaleidoscope of music rooted in the region's diverse historical influences. Cayman Art Week (CAW) 2023 was a week-long curated program of gallery tours and open studios held annually and designed to celebrate and encourage the collection of art in the Cayman Islands.
